It's not the first time we have heard allegations of sexual harassment within a workplace , but this time the victim is choosing to speak out and believes her case is being swept under the rug. She chose to keep her identity private, but gave us a breakdown today as to when her nightmare had begun.

"From early 2017 (name excised) had been making some advances to me trying to get me to go out with him indicate his interest and that kind of thing and I kept telling him that I was not interest in him and that I did not come here for that I did not come at Karl Heusner to hook up with anybody I came there to work right and he would still always come and try to talk to me and then he would come and use the union stuff to come and talk to me I guess to have a reason to talk to me."
"Now I was working the evening shift. Remember this has been happening for a while that he would come and talk to me and throw his line. I was working evening shift on April 12th 2019. I was working the 3 to 11 shift and for some reason we ended up talking that day and I told him I would do a sit down with you under one condition we would further discuss work related stuff and that kind of thing."
She says she accepted his invitation from a professional standpoint but never thought that the situation would escalate the way it did that night:

"My plan was maybe alright he would come and we would drive around a bit and discuss my interest and he would take me back home but he came and said he arranged to pick me up and he would take me somewhere nice where we can sit down and eat something and have maybe drink or 2 and discuss further discuss my interest and I said okay fine. And he took me to Rustic Corner in Ladyville."
"So by then I had made It clear to him that no I am not giving myself to you and I told you it won't happen, so now I told him I just want to go home right these are the early hours in the morning and I just want to go home because he came for me after work when I got off an 11:00 shift and I didn't take it anyway because I have male friends where it would be late and they would shout me and talk about their own stuff so I don't take it personal for no one to want to talk to you late you know."
"I told him I wanted to go home and we were driving on the road between rustic and Haulover on Ladyville side somewhere along there he stopped and said he wanted to take a leak."
"So now after he was out for a minute and a half to 2 minutes he will tell me (Crystal) watch this strange animal here and told me about some strange animal out there so I just came out of the vehicle because I said what a strange animal? Innocently I got out of the vehicle he came and tried to hug me from behind and turn me to face him and then he tried to kiss me and I turned my head away and I said look I told you this is not happening with me and you this won't happen and I won't do this with you. And he came up to me and I turned away from him and as he was coming to me I drew back and the quickness he opened his passenger door seat and haul up my clothes and did what he did he raped me it happened so fast I don't want to get into the details of that because you know but he raped me and I was very angry and I was fighting him trying to pull myself away and I wasn't punching or scratching him because I was shocked, frightened, traumatised."
Since then she has filed an official report both at the police station and at work, yet still she continues to be harassed by this individual. She says that she has text messages to support her allegations that the rape had happened, yet her case remains at a standstill.

"I did my police report the official report from February the 10th according to them the information was sent up to the DPP office and nothing has been done about this and I believe they are trying to have this thing brushed under the mat because he has a lot of affiliation from what I understand he is going around telling people, me and she me and her had something, like you know how stupid that man sounds."
"I did three verbal complaints in all of harassment, 2 last year and one earlier this year and because I did these complaints and they called him out, the matron called him out because I went to the matron and made a complaint again about him harassing me on my shift and they called him in and spoke to him and because of that he maliciously wrote some stuff against me."
"He took some things and tried to take it and turn it around and make it look like I committed an offence when all I did was part of how some people function in there at times."
"He was trying to get me fired because he knew the truth was about to come out because he kept on harassing me in there and the incident that took place I told him i'm going to expose you because I got tired of his constant harassment the reason I went to the police to do my report was because I started fearing for my safety because of his obsessive behaviour."
We reached out to the DPP's office this evening who told us, quote, "Further investigation needs to be done by the police before a decision can be taken on the way forward. When we are satisfied that the police investigation is complete and a decision has been made, it will be communicated to the complainant. It would be inappropriate to discuss the details of the complaint, but it can be assured that only relevant and otherwise admissible evidence will be taken into account in making a determination."
The commissioner also commented saying "Due to the timeline of the alleged incident and when she made the report We have put that file together and sent it to DPP officer for advice. So its not being swept under the rug."
