Roger Anthony & Joe Panting Charged for Ortega Murder

And while the murder rate remains high, the arrest rate is also high while the conviction rate is another story altogether. But arrests keep coming: and today police took three more men to court for murder and related charges.

20-year-old Roger Anthony and Joseph Panting top the list. Anthony was captured this morning and was charged jointly with Panting. They were separately arraigned for the murder of and conspiracy to murder Kirk Ortega. Both were denied bail. Ortega was killed on Tuesday night on Hondo Street. His family believes he was targeted because he was wearing red.

22-year-old Raymond Moralez was also taken to court today. He is accused of the murder of Floyd Gladden Jr. also Known as Cinco Seis. Police say that Moralez and a 17 year old conspired to kill Cinco-Seis on Tuesday afternoon on Warrie Street. Only Moralez went to court today where he was remanded until September 14. The 17 year old is expected to be arraigned tomorrow.
