But Why Sandhill?
Fri, August 30, 2024
It's an interesting experiment since this is the first time the games are being hosted in a rural area. Williams also explained to us why Rogers stadium was not a viable option for them this year:

Shane Williams, Tournament Director, National women's tournament
"So this is the first time we are hosting in Belize rural. We hosted in Cayo before when we didn't have tournaments in Belize city but this time it was made necessary because the facility is not ready here at Rogers stadium for nationals. We have had to engage in extensive repairing works, the field is unlevel and lighting conditions are not up to par but fortunately since we have been working in the field for the last two weeks we received a lot of donations from ministry's business community and sports council have donated lights so the field will be ready in time for the 2025 regular season starting in January. But this is an opportunity softball needs to be moved around the country. We have to stop focus solely on Belize City. The highest level of the tournament should be moved around the country and this is an opportunity for us to do so."
