Police have captured a man who is wanted for murder, and what’s more
they found him with an illegal firearm. Around 7:00 yesterday a special patrol
team saw Charles Castillo Jr. riding a bike in the kraal road area. The 19 year
old is wanted for murder, so he ran down an alley the police set chase. They
claim that when he was running off, a shiny object dropped out of his pants.
It turned out to be a 9mm Smith and Wesson pistol with 11 live rounds. Castillo
was taken in and charged for gun possession. But that’s not all, he has
also been on the run for the March 30th murder of 20 year old Tyrone Castellanos.
In court today, he pleaded not guilty to the firearm charge but no plea was
taken on the murder. He was remanded to the Hattieville prison where joins the
other two men charged with the same crime. They are 21 year old Alrick Olivera
and Cordel Flowers. According to eyewitnesses, Castellanos was at #3 Central
American Boulevard standing behind a fence when he was shot in the head.
