Southern Hwy. Slip Causes Fatality

A major accident involving three vehicles on the Southern Highway has left one person dead and another injured.

According to truck driver twenty four year old Carlos Lopez he was heading towards Duncan ‘s dump to discharge some orange peel.

Lopez says he noticed a car coming in the opposite direction in his lane. They collided and that caused the orange peel to spill out of the trailer and unto the road.

That is when another truck driven by John Brown ran over the slippery substance and that caused his truck to hit the trailer and slide off the road.

The car’s driver identified as thirty two year old mechanic Regio Lopez suffered serious head and body injuries was rushed to southern regional hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say their investigations continue at this time and they will determine later who will be charged.
