Another notable Belizean has passed - and he too had published work. Frederick Hopkins Hunter, known as Fred was a former member of the House of Representatives, and long time representative for Belize Rural North. He passed on December 19, 2020 at the age of 93.
Hunter represented Rural North from 1961 to 1984 and served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Public Works, the Minister of Agriculture, Lands, and Cooperatives, the Minister of Communications, and the Minister of Works, Port, and Harbour.
He will be honoured with an official funeral on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burrell Boom Village.
