And one of those December murders was for 23-year-old Deron Hernandez. He's the call center agent who'd just returned from work when he was called to his gate and murdered in what appeared to be a hit.
Well, tonight police are saying that Hernandez was killed by a colleague, 18-year-old Daniel Alexander Tillett who is himself a call center agent.
Tillet was arraigned for murder today in the court of Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson where he appeared accompanied by his attorney, Dickie Bradley.
Tonight he sits on remand in the Belize Central Prison with his next court date scheduled for March 3, 2022.
Notable, is that he becomes the second person in his family to be charged for murder. His father Vincent "Steeno" Tillett Sr. was charged for murder and eventually convicted of manslaughter in the stabbing death of 22-year-old, Darwin Phillips. Tillett Sr. spent 15 years in jail.
