And so while they got a suspended sentence, 7 other men went to court today, accused of being the member of a gang. They were picked up in a recent round up of gang figures by the GI-3.
They are 20 year old Jaheed Baptist, from Racecourse Street, 22 year old Shawn Anthony Humes, of Wagner's Lane, 32 year old Clifford Russel Anderson Jr., of McKenzie Lane, 24 year old Enrique Bermudez, of Laura Dunn Street, 19 year old Jahale Isiah Craig, a 19-year-old, of Wagners Lane, and 23 year old Marquis Conorque, of CET Site - all in Belize City.
And, San Pedro police also picked up an alleged gangster, 18 year old Miguel CAMPOS, from the San Juan Area.
In court this afternoon, Anderson pleaded not guilty and told the Senior Magistrate that he is being targeted by police for a recent shooting. He claim he lost his job as a Gardener at the Princess Hotel due to the allegations being made against him for being a member of a gang. Anderson was remanded at the Belize Central Prison until Dec.6th.
All the others from Belize City also pleaded not guilty and were remanded until December.
