Nah Was Implicated In Fareed Ahmad's Murder
posted (January 3, 2023)
And while the Ramnarace family now hopes for a murder conviction - the family of 39 year old murder victim Fareed Ahmad will not be so lucky. The only person accused of their loved one's 2017 murder was PC Michelle Brown and she was declared "not guilty" in 2020.

But, nearing the end of her trial, she gave a sensational statement from the dock. She told the court that Corporal Elmer Nah jumped into Ahmad's vehicle and fatally shot him.

At the time, Nah was a part of Assistant Commissioner Marco Vidal's elite strike team and police dismissed the claim as fanciful.

Today, in light of what the weekends investigation revealed, we asked the commissioner if they will re-visit that:

Jules Vasquez
"The Fareed Ahmad case is that something that will be looked at now that Michelle Brown claimed out of where, I don't know, that Elmer Nah is the person who shot Fareed Ahmad?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"In law there is a thing that says that the evidence of a co-accused is no evidence against another. Whatever a co-accused says can only be used against that accused person. Yes, Michelle Brown did make mention of certain things on the stand in court, that cannot be regarded as evidence for us. She will have to perhaps approach the DPP, give a statement separate from what we already have on the file and based on that, then the DPP if she were to find it to be believable or reasonable may issue directives to the police where that is concerned."

"Let's say the family ask for it to be re-open, can that be re-open now with that angle with Nah being pursued?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"It would have to be something the DPP would have to decide. The DPP is a person of high integrity. I don't question her integrity at all. I've seen her operate and how she operates. I know for a fact that she was not satisfied with the outcome and she was looking to see what can be done to have the matter reviewed. I don't know how far that got, but I will check with her to see."

The family of 24 year old Raphael Garrido - who was killed in February of 2021 also implicated corporal Nah in his killing. The young man was found in a shallow grave weeks after he went missing. we asked about that too:

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"So yes, in Garrido case, Nah name was called, but there was nothing tangible that we could have gone with to say you know what we can charge. If anybody at this time have any information that they believe can help, the case is still open. We are willing to listen and record statements or gather evidence as the case may be to further the matter."
