Rodwell Welcomes New CEO, Kind Of
posted (May 4, 2023)

And while Minister Ferguson is out of the country, he hasn't met his new CEO yet. That's Adele Catzim Sanchez who was last the CEO for youth, sports and culture under the UDP.

Now she has been named the CEO for Transport, Youth and Sports under the PUP.

Ferguson had disagreements with his previous CEO Marconi Leal Jr. So how will he get along with this one? When we spoke to him from Columbia today, he wasn't; sure:

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport, Youth & Sports
"I'm a bit hesitant to comment at this point in time because I'm not there in Belize, she came on on Monday while I was absent, I mean on Tuesday. So when I get back I will have a sit down with her, I will have a one on one but we communicate on phone and by WhatsApp so I think we are going to have a very good working relationship." Jules Vasquez:
"Will you lift the $5,000 limit that you had on the previous CEO that no expenditure over $5,000 could be made without your approval or say so?"

Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Transport, Youth & Sports
"I think you misconstrued my messages to the CEO. I didn't ask that I look over and sign everything over $5,000, I said at least I want scrutiny so I could understand as the minister responsible, who is supposed to maintain the budget, know exactly how the money is being spent and what it is being spent on. So I guess we'll have a good working relationship between the new CEO and myself."
