Barrow Comments on Cabinet Breach
posted (May 29, 2023)
And while Briceno talks in generalities about investigating the former Minister of Economic Development and Investment - on Friday, former PM Dean Barrow said he'd better investigate the leaks from his Cabinet.

You just heard how disappointed the PM was that the whole "Cabinet Confidential" document leaked. Well, on Friday his predecessor said that's a sure sign of an ill wind that blows no good:

Dean Barrow, Former Prime Minister
"You can't give cabinet members a document of that nature, of that length the night before. I'm not saying that there are not instances when cabinet members have gotten sight of a document only the night before, but that's when it's some matter of absolute urgency and even if you do that, the moment somebody puts up his or her hand to say 'no man, we can't consider this today, I need some time.' That's that."

"Now, I don't know what happened with this special cabinet meeting, but nothing about the circumstances obliges any kind of urgency. Nothing obliges consideration based on a lack of proper notice. Except somebody was trying to pull a fast one. I don't know what the outcome of the meeting was, but the fact that the cabinet confidential has been leaked, I repeat, suggest to me that something is rot in the state of Denmark."
