Gordon Wade - he's a veteran Immigration Officer who's 7 months away from retirement - and tonight the question is why the Corozal resident was transferred to a post Punta Gorda with only months to go in his career as a public officer.
Sources we spoke to in the Immigration Department are claiming that it's victimization from the desk of the Director - since transferring Wade at the end of his career makes no sense - especially since there is no prospect of professional development.
We understand that Wade had asked to serve out his last few months in the Cayo District where he is currently based.
Pre-retirement transfers - especially to far flung posts are generally considered to be punitive.
