In July of 2019, Vendor Jose Diaz was killed for no reason at his used clothing store on Cemetery Road. Two men were charged for the murder, and tonight one has been convicted. He is Leroy Haulze who was seen on surveillance video acting as a lookout for the shooter.
Surveillance footage presented in court before Justice Nigel Pilgrim captures the moment when Haulze motions to Garnett from across the street, after Garnett was seen leaving Diaz's establishment just after the murder. This led Justice Pilgrim to make a decision on the basis that Haulze was the only individual caught on camera. So, Garnett - who was the suspected shooter - was acquitted of his charges while Haulze was convicted.
Haulze will be sentenced for murder on September 25th.
