Sometime after 2:00 pm Belize City police were called to Cesar Ridge Road where 29-year-old Steven Moss lay dead on the street.

He'd been shot off his bicycle while coming home with a snack of panades and shilling ideal by a gunman who neighbours say had been circling the area.

Moss was no stranger to the law, he got off a murder charge in 2020 when that charge was dismissed for lack of evidence.

Today Moss was the one to lose his life, and just a stone's throw from his mother's home.

His broad daylight killing brought out the entire neighbourhood who could only stand by and observe the violent tragedy, but they expressed anger at the police for taking too long to remove Moss's body after it sustained burns from the pavement.

Police declined comment - but sources say his targeted killing is part of ongoing and escalating gang warfare in the city.
