Orel Leslie Suspected Killers To Court On Gun Charges
posted (August 29, 2023)
Yesterday we told you that 34-year-old Orel Leslie was killed in one of the most vicious murders the city has seen. The gunmen fired close to 50 rounds of ammunition towards Leslie's pickup truck at the corner of Dickenson Street and Yarborough Road.

The Commissioner of Police said yesterday morning that they already had two suspects in custody - men from a rival gang who were caught minutes after with a 9 millimeter pistol and two extended clips while driving on a stolen motorcycle. And today, those two men, 25-year-old Elden Flowers and 27-year-old Kareem Franklin were in court, where they were read two charges of keeping firearms and ammunition - namely a Glock pistol and four live rounds of 9 millimeter ammunition.

They were unrepresented in court and both pleaded not guilty. But due to the nature of the offenses, they were remanded until October 30th.

Notably, Flowers just walked from another murder charge back in April of this year. He'd been accused of fatally shooting Richard O'Neil, who was kidnapped and killed on the Burrell Boom Road. That case ended in a nolle prosequi.

Flowers is the brother of a prominent member of the PIV gang.
