Tonight, Ayana's grieving mother, who has now lost her second infant to a traumatic death - is demanding that the charge should be murder. She called us to her home today:

Alva Moody is having days most of us could not even imagine. She careens between mournful calm and eruptive rage.

You probably would be much the same if you lost two children,

4 year old Ayana, and, in 2018, 3 year old Etana - who is in the background in this poster on the wall.

She clutches her daughter's birth certificate in her hand - never letting it go, it is the last proof of life she has left. And it's because of what's written on this document that today she is calling for a murder charge against 43 year old Marvin Plett, and 39 year old Lena Plett:

"It's not right, its pure murder, they beat that little girl from head to toe, bruises from head to toe. How can that be manslaughter, Chester Williams?"

"They people kill my daughter and I want to know how they get weh with manslaughter. That's the thing I want to ask. Not a minister could come into this and tell me.... You know why, because the death certificate says its brutally beaten."

"Human development mek my daughter dead. All ah unu... I no fraid to say it, unu come fi me any day, because I am ready fu unu to. I swear over my two daughter graves now this no gwen like this."

She last visited with Ayana and her 2 year old sister in October. And tonight she is calling to get the younger child back:
