Tonight, the Director of Public Prosecutions has still not completed her advice to police in the case of the attorney accused of rape. So, no charges have been brought and we don't know if they will be brought - after a woman alleged in a complaint that she went to the lawyer's home - had drinks with him - and woke up to find that she'd engaged in intercourse, but never gave consent.
No charges have been brought so no name has been released - but the UDP is confirming that the attorney is a former UDP candidate.
A release issued this morning says, quote, "The Party takes the allegation of rape extremely serious; we condemn any act of violence against women and empathize with all victims.
The Party trusts the DPP will conduct a thorough and impartial investigation as she arrives at her determination of this matter."
