A 26 year old Belizean mother of one was viciously murdered in Flores, Peten last week - and tonight Belize police are looking for possible motives here in Belize.
26 year old Dora Salas was born in Belize, and has lived in Camalote and St Matthews village - while most of her family is from El Salvador. In fact, she was most recently seen traveling by bus from Salvador to Guatemala.
But, on Sunday, Guatemalan media posted the news that she had been killed in Flores, Peten and thrown in a dumpster in the municipality of San Francisco, Peten. That's where she was found nude on Thursday, and her family, which had filed a missing persons report in Flores on Wednesday identified her through photographs.
It's a homicide for Guatemalans authorities to solve - and Belize police did not want to comment today- or even confirm that there was a local missing persons report. But, according to our sources, she was also reported missing in Belmopan over the weekend. Presently, police are looking into any possible connection between events in Belize and her demise in Guatemala.
