Mennonite Accused Of Strangling Man With Charger Cable

Police have also charged a mennonite for an early murder that went un-reported.

In happened in remote Corozalito village on the old Northern Highway on Saturday February 17th

That's when 33 year old Alexander Villamil was strangled to death with a phone charger.

He had left a village dance in Maskall with David Friesen and apparel to be drunk. Viallmil's body was found near a bus stop in Corizalito four days later.

28 year old David Friesen appeared at the magistrates court this morning unrepresented, where he was charged for murder and remanded.

"On Wednesday the 21st day of February 2024 police responded to a report at Corozalito village in the Belize district that the body of a male person had been found. Police visited the area where they found the lifeless body of Alexander Viamill with injuries to the neck and he was taken to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival, investigations reveal that Alexander Viamill was last seen a couple of days before Wednesday and was reported missing the day before. Police conducted a investigation post mortem examination, was conducted on him and the results were handed to the investigators as a result, David Friesen 28 years farmer of Corozalito has been arrested in charged for the crime of murder."

A post mortem revealed that Villamil died as a result of mechanical axphyxiation due to strangulation.
