Was Dora's Death Connected To A Tacoma She Sold?
posted (February 29, 2024)

And while Belizean police are investigating that double murder, Guatemalan authorities are investigating the murder of Dora Salas. She's a Belizean who was found murdered in Flores, Peten after her family reported her missing. Her body was found nude at a dump site.

It's a terrible end for this girl from Belmopan. But could recent events in her life in Belize be somehow connected to her death?

Today we asked the ComPol what the local cops knew about the incident.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"We don't have much about that. The only thing I know is that she had gone to El Salvador on some excursion and on the way back, she might have exited in Guatemala and that was the last of her."

Reporter:
"Have you heard any reports that her death might be connected to a red Tacoma that was stolen here in Belize and that the owners claim they were being extorted for?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I don't know because she no longer had that Tacoma, she had sold it so I don't see why she would have a connection to the vehicle anymore."

We note that the Tacoma she sold was stolen from the new owner - who then reported that his family was being extorted to pay for its return.
