And while Musa didn't get his preferred outcome in Corozal Bay, he was celebrating with the rest of his party after their massive win in Toledo East.
For the past two days, we brought you the highlights of the by-election. But now Dr Martinez's work as area rep begins, which may be daunting since he is a newcomer in what he called a neglected division. However, his colleague Kareem Musa said he's confident that Martinez has what it takes.

"We definitely did not have any doubt. We went into the election very confident. We have a lot of trust and confidence in the now area representative, Dr. Osmond Martinez. He had a very impressive resume and track record as a lecturer, as a teacher at Galen University, followed by a very impressive record as CEO, a very short stint of three years as the CEO in the Ministry of Economic Development."
"And so we had every trust in his capabilities. He is from Toledo East, even though he was registered in Caribbean shores. But we have every trust and confidence and he delivered overwhelmingly, I think even beyond our expectations."
