Still No Arrest In Imari's Murder, New Investigator Appointed
posted (August 5, 2024)
The discovery of her body a year ago off a feeder road near the hummingbird highway left the capital in shock, and her family members desperate for answers. 19 year old Imari Galvez had vanished in May of 2023, and was found 24 hours later in a state of decomposition. Her killer however was never located, and today the Compol told us that they have not closed the case for good, but instead a new investigator was recently appointed. Here's what he shared with us.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I met with family members the mother and the father and I appointed a new investigator that is now being looked at by the special team that I put together following the SOE and we are making very, very slow progress. I am hoping that we will be able to reach the stage that we gather sufficient evidence to be able to charge someone. We have a basic idea in terms of where we are going what we are looking for so again like I said before we are looking at a number of these investigations that have been closed reopening them, and we are making arrests. And I am hoping that the Imari Galvez case is Going to be one of those that we can make an arrest very shortly."

Reporter-
"Is it true that the previous investigator refused to interview and eyewitness?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Not to my knowledge no."
