There was a scary moment for an American teenager visiting Belize after she was attacked by a shark!
It happened this morning at around 11:30.
Reports from the coast guard are that the Belize Dive Pro company had just finished a dive between Hot Caye and Halfmoon Caye with a group. After the dive, 15 year old Sofia Carlson jumped into the water and that's when sharks attacked her. She was rescued and tended to at the Coast Guard FOB until an Astrum helicopter arrived. She was then airlifted to Belize Medical Associates. We'll have more on her condition tomorrow.
