Belize wasn't the only country backing Gill when he showed up on the track. He garnered overwhelming support from Brazil, who blew up his Instagram posts. Gill says he doesn't know how it started but he is grateful for the fans who adopted him along his Olympic journey.

"Man listen I don't know where that came from honestly I know it started with the opening ceremony again with the flag and somebody posted a video on Tik Tok and instantly overnight the video went viral like at the time we had five million views you know the last time i checked it probably maybe yesterday or two days ago it was up to over 9 million views. Now why Brazil? I couldn't tell you absolutely couldn't tell you but they just stuck onto it and I mean I received messages from doctors, lawyers politicians and major sporting companies and everyone just say you know what we love you we adopt you we want you to come to Brazil and I mean I don't know why. I definitely appreciate it and I try to reach out to as many people as I could but the messages were just too much like literally thousands and thousands of messages and I still can't even check all. My phone freezed I couldn't check all the messages them but if Brazil see this interview I appreciate you all."
