posted (September 23, 2024)
But a confrontation that happened before the drunken aftermath involved the commissioner of police and tonight a visiting American has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault after he pushed the commissioner of police.

46-year-old, Jaron James McKay, a Belizean/American Consultant of Phoenix, Arizona pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault of the COMPOL.

Here's what happened: On Saturday the Compol was patrolling the carnival route when he saw a man and a woman drinking alcohol from a bottle. CoMPOL Williams approached them and asked the male for the bottle but that's when he pushed his hand away. COMPOL Williams demanded that he hand over the bottle but the man who was later identified to be Jaron James McKay pushed the COMPOL.

McKay was then taken into custody by police and detained at the Orange Walk Police Station.

Today he appeared with attorney Leeroy Banner, pleaded guilty and escaped going to jail, only because he has no prior offence. He was fined $1,500 dollars which he has to pay in a week's time.

According to McKay, he will be visiting Belize for the next 2 weeks.
