He was the only athlete to represent Belize at the Olympic Games in Paris earlier this year, but that didn't save sprinter Shaun Gill from the whip of a police pistol. Details are not confirmed yet, but 7News has confirmed with Gill that he was pistol whipped by an off duty police officer which left him with injuries to his head and face. He has not been criminally charged but told us he plans to press charges against the police officer. Once he does that he says he will talk to the media.
The 31 year old Gill is a Belize City native who was recently accepted into the master's degree program in Industrial Management at Texas A&M University.
