A second person has been charged in connection with last week's major drug bust in Belama Phase 3 - which also turned up the drug known as Crystal Meth.
40-year-old Sheldon Lionel Flores is the nephew of Audrey Penelope Maheia, whose home was raided by police on September 26.
Flores was taken into custody over the weekend and escorted to the Belize City Magistrate Court yesterday, where he was arraigned on four drug-related charges. These include three counts of possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply after 19 pounds of Marijuana, 1.6 ounces of methamphetamine, and 0.09 ounces of cocaine were found. Flores was also charged with the possession of 1.76 ounces of suspected marijuana. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The Senior Magistrate granted bail of $5,000. Both Flores and Maheia are scheduled to return to court on November 27, 2024.
Last Friday, Maheia, who is wheelchair-bound, was also charged with the same four offenses. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail.
