He's Belize's most popular punta artist and one of the artists with the most commercial endorsements in Belize - but things took a dire turn for 20 year old Hubee, legally known as Huston Alvarez last Thursday. He reportedly found his 30 year old girlfriend in the company of a colleague in Hopkins village.
Hubee allegedly took her to his home where he is accused of choking her. He was charged for the crime of harm. But, yesterday, his girlfriend withdrew the charge.
As for Hubee he put out a statement saying, quote, "I was regrettably involved in a domestic situation which also involved my common-law. However, what should have been a private matter, was unfortunately disclosed to the public and brought about unwanted attention to both our lives. I want to take this time to publicly express my deepest and most sincere apologies to my common-law, for putting her in this very difficult and unfortunate situation. I hereby hold myself fully accountable for acting out of character, and I wish to reassure the general public that this is NOT who I am as a person. I apologize to all women who have been fans and supporters of my career. I condemn any form of violence against women, men, and children."
