A driver who crashed into and caused the death of a 19 year old on a motorcycle was drunk and had no license. That's what police are saying about 53 year old Gustavo Cardenas, from Douglas Village, Orange Walk.

On Sunday nightwear the San Roman junction Cardenas rear ended 19 year old Kristian Beaza, who was driving a motorcycle, launching him off the bike to the pavement, leaving with multiple injuries which proved to be fatal.

Now Cardenas has been charged with causing death by careless conduct and manslaughter by negligence, Drove Unlicensed Motor Vehicle, Drove motor vehicle without due care and attention, Drove motor vehicle whilst under the influence of drinks or drugs, failed to provide specimen and Drove motor vehicle without a valid driver license. Basically, the only thing he had was an insured vehicle.

As we told you last night, this is not the first fatality Cardenas has been involved in. 21 years ago in 2003, Cardenas was driving when his Jeep Cherokee had a head on collision with a van - where two men were killed, including police officer Lincoln Kellyman.
