The list of public and bank holidays for 2025 has been released and it's not looking great for weekend warriors.
There will be only 3 long holiday weekends in 2025, compared to last year's 6 - and two four day weekends with the Easter and Christmas weekends.
Notably, George Price's birthday will be observed on the day it falls - which is Wednesday 15th January, just like Labour Day, which who'll be observed on Thursday first May.
The only holidays that are moveable feasts - meaning they are shifted to Monday's to extend the weekend are "Heroes and Benefactors" on Monday March 10th and Indigenous People's Resistance Day on Monday 13th October. Because September 21st falls on a Sunday - its observance is being moved to Monday September 22nd.
