And the Ministry was also quick to respond this morning after we got word of a sinkhole appearing on the approach to the Bermudian Landing bridge in the Belize River Valley.
This evening, the Chief Engineer told us "the MIDH has completed a temporary repair to the approach to the Bermudian Landing Bridge where a cavern was formed this morning. This was as a result of high water level in the Belize River and scouring on the embankment of the bridge. As soon as the river recedes, the ministry will undertake further investigation to see what erosion protection measures need to be implemented."
