Tonight, there are three traumatic deaths to report, at least two of them murders, all within the last 24 hours.
The first story is the most recent: a murder in San Pedro that occurred this afternoon - and it appears to be motivated by a land dispute. According to initial reports, the victim, Matthew Moses, was shot several times in the Secret Beach area of Ambergris Caye. Moses, who recently returned to the island after visiting family in Libertad Village, was allegedly aggressing a caretaker in the area. The dispute apparently stems from earlier issues between Moses and the owner of the property - an American who fled the country.
Moses is also reported to have had problems with the workers and allegedly threatened their lives as well as the killer's family, which prompted him to pull out his licensed firearm and fire multiple shots.
The suspect is in custody and he had a licensed gun, according to reports.
We will keep following this story.
