We also asked Barrow about a potential opponent in Mesop - Lee Mark Chang. While Chang hasn't declared his candidacy, it's being publicly floated. So what does Barrow think of the possibility? He says his only concern is the people of his constituency.
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I don't anything about that, I haven't seen any declaration on his part or anybody's part, all I've seen is we don't know and we will see."
Courtney Menzies:
"But if he were to run in your constituency, would you be concerned?"
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"My concern is always the people of Mesopotamia and how I deliver the services for them which is why when I come into this House, again I am the member of Parliament, at least on the Opposition side that has given the most questions to ministers and most of my questions stem from the people of Mesopotamia. Tomorrow we have our Xmas festival and I focus on what I need to do to service the people of Mesopotamia and that will determine how they vote. I've done that ever since I entered the political arena about 11 years ago and I have just worked on the people, it didn't matter who my opponent was, my opponent changed multiple times in Mesopotamia and I was never running against anyone, I was running to serve the people and so I'm still focused on the people of Mesopotamia."
Courtney Menzies:
"Rumors are that elections are in 3 months, when do you expect to have your full slate ready?"
Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"We're almost there. We'll announce the full slate in January. We're there, we could do it right now, but we're focused on the holidays, we only a week to go so letting everyone focus on dealing with the constituents."
