Yesterday we took you to Monkey River Village where the community is still trying to recover from the heinous murder of a man, 39 year old Elvis Garbutt Sr, his wife Emerita, and their 3 year old son. The killer was Garbutt's cousin, who had grown up with him in the same village. He had reportedly learned that Garbutt had money in his vehicle to buy a boat, so he waylaid them on the Monkey River Road and shot them.
And today Curtis Garbutt was charged with three counts of murder. He was arraigned in the Independence Magistrate Court this afternoon. He is remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
