"We find ourselves gathered here under the shadow of a building never seen in the village. This building has a spacious and comfortable hall where different public activities can take place. This project was made possible through the efforts of the Honorable Jorge Espat minister of state and representative of Cayo west with the support from of the Honorable Anthony Mahler, minister of tourism and with the collaboration of the Belize Tourism board. I am certain and there is no doubt about it that the villagers of Succotz are proud to have an exceptional center this center is located in the plaza of the village where it was known the be the alcaldes court of justice, the jail the British flag the old time Catholic Church and the primary schools. In this same place the dance of the Moores the Mestizadas dance and others took place. The history of San Hose Succotz had the origin of the mayas hence we can say that this village was the cradle of our ancestors."

"So there are a lot of projects happening right now under the ministry of tourism under the leadership of our minister so that we can ensure that our travelers and our visitors have a safe, convenient and comfortable experience when they are visiting belize. Imagine when they come here we will be able to put shows on for them and share with them some of the culture while they sit down in a comfortable environment and really have the opportunity to appreciate what Belize has to offer so we continue to do that and some people ask how do you make the decision where to put that investment? I just want you all to know that we have a national sustainable tourism master plan and I invite you all to go and look at those plans they are public and we don't decide let's put a center here or there. There is a master plan for tourism and for tourism development so this is a part of that plan."
