A 23 year old was gunned down on Christmas night in the Lakeland area of Dangriga Town. At around 9:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a man with apparent gunshot injuries at the Southern Regional Hospital. Police found 23-year-old James Aranda, with two gunshot wounds to the center of his head.
At around 9:10 p.m., Aranda was walking on Sabal Street - not far from his home - when two men on motorcycle pulled up on him. The suspects, dressed in dark clothing, fired several shots. He fell to the street and the men shot him in the head. A passerby rushed him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead a short time after. Police found five expended shell casings and one slug at the scene.
So far no one has been arrested.
His family declined an interview today.
