A pair of Uruguayan tourists were robbed yesterday in Belize city - but police have also already recovered some of the stolen items.
On Sunday at about 5:30pm, 50 year old Florencia Silveira and 44 year old Adriana Rodriguez were walking on Regent Street behind the Anglican Cathedral and in front of the House of Culture when they were robbed by two men who had covered their faces. They stole the women's purses with passports, credit cards and cell phones. After the robbery they ran towards Berkeley St.
Police were quick to detain two men and went to the corner of Berkley St and Wagner Lane where two passports and Identification cards were recovered.
