Untitled Document Today, taxi operators in San Pedro were in an uproar. They crowded the street in front of the Town mayor's office and police had to be called to disperse them. They're upset because they say the new San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi Terminal is boxing them out. They say the terminal has its own taxi operators and it's depriving them of their contracted runs. They are calling it unfair competition and say the town council is. Permitting the water taxi to double dip. by also doubling as land taxi's. Here's more:

The mayor was not available, but sent a message saying he will meet with them along with the area rep and minister of transport next week.
The federation members say they will continue pressing the issue and if the authorities ignore them they may held a larger protest.
