Tonight, we're reporting on the passing of one of the true pioneers of San Pedro's. Tourism industry. Dona Elvia Staine passed away this morning at the age of 92.
She's the founder of the legendary Elvi's Kitchen almost 50 years ago. It was one of the first restaurants on the island - and is now one of the cornerstones of the town's rich and diverse culinary scene.
But, it all started with Ms Elvi's Burger Isle - which was really just a hole in the wall.
How it went from that to being San Pedro's pre-eminent dining destination is not the product of cunning business practices, or ruthless machinations - quite the contrary, Dona Elvia did it all with love, passion for cooking and an uncommon grace from this native San Pedrana - who always preferred to speak in Spanish.
In 2016, Jules Vasquez visited his "Tia Elvia" for the restaurant's 40's anniversary and here's what he saw:
