ComPol Says Police Couldn't Prevent BDF Murder
posted (January 20, 2025)
And according to the Commissioner of Police, the alleged shooter is already in police custody as the investigation continues. He said the police couldn't have prevented this killing.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Alfred was taken into custody of the police where he is currently detained pending investigation. Initial investigation received so far is that the two soldiers were socializing at the BDF outpost in the area when they had an argument between themselves which resulted in Robinson firing a series of gunshots fatally hitting Baizar and another soldier was also hit. That other soldier is currently admitted at the Western Regional Hospital recovering. So that is what we have at this time."

"I don't think you guys expect that we'd be able to stop these type of killings, they're certainly outside the preventative reach of the police. We just need to advise people to try as best as they can to resolve issues utilizing other means as opposed to using fatal injuries, either by way of gunshot or otherwise. It has a lot to do with how you mange yourself at home or within your domestic or social setting and that will determine how we can reduce the amount of incidents we're seeing. For instance when you have situations where persons are socializing in a yard drinking and then they have an argument and one gets killed, how do we tell people not to socialize in their own private yard? We cannot do that. Policing does not allow us to go to that extent of policing people's private home or people's private yards. but it is extremely difficult."
