Man Charged For Murder Is Convicted Of Rape

He was granted bail after being charged with 3 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13 year old minor in March of 2022. But his bail was revoked 1 year and 8 months after he was detained and charged again, this time for murder.

Jeffery Pott, a resident of Corozalito village appeared in court today unrepresented before Justice Nigel Pilgrim where he was found guilty of 3 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. Pott is accused of having sexual relations with the minor on three separate occasions between 2021 and 2022.

His bail was revoked in June of 2024 after he was charged for the murder of 50 year Dion Bodden, and has been on remand since. Justice Pilgrim ordered a victim impact statement a prison report on Pott, and a social inquiry report to be provided to the court before he hands down a sentence. 4 witnesses were called to the stand during his trial. His sentencing is set for March 17th 2025.
