As the PM mentioned, the PUP Mayor of San Pedro Mayor, Wally Nunez journeyed to Washington DC earlier this week. Cherisse Halsall caught up with him at a private reception in DC and he told us more details about his trip to the US and how he ended up in the capital.

"Well we had an invite from the congressmen and some friends in Texas that wanted us to join them and since we have a trip here to the US for our sister city relationship that we are starting with clearwater in Tampa Florida we decided to come a couple days before so that we get to witness this historic inaugural event."
"The clearwater is a sister city relationship that we are planning we have been talking with the groups in Clearwater that we are planning this that there is a plan for a rehabilitation centre in San Pedro just like how they have partnered with Gales point and there is also plans for us to do a sister city relationship with them so that we can have some cultural exchanges, some educational exchanges and of course with tourism because both places to live off from tourism and we are planning on having this relationship with them so that we can have more exposure for the country and for our island."
"I just wanted to be a part of The inauguration as I know it is historic. Us in Belize we don't really take sides when it comes to American politics, so I am just neutral when it comes to the American politics."
