posted (January 27, 2025)
A father of 6 was convicted of raping a minor on 3 separate occasions. 34 year old Robert Usher was also convicted of aggravated and sexual assault charges. In totality, he will be spending more than 26 years in prison.

His three rape sentences will run concurrently, which is 21 years, then he will serve another five years for his other charges consecutively.

His attorney, Norman Rodriguez, spoke briefly about the sentencing.

Norman Rodriguez, Attorney
"Actually, two counts involved aggravated assault and sexual assault and three counts of rape for maximum overall sentence of 26 years, 11 months, and 14 days. That would mean that they subtracted the 8 days he had spent on remand and there was a deduction of a year for the mitigating testimonies of the witnesses."

"I came onto this matter for the mitigation and sentencing so I can only tell you that the trial started sometime in November and concluded in November when he was found guilty and remanded to the prison for his sentencing."

According to the allegations, the minor had first been molested by Usher at the age 8 and when she turned 13, he raped her. The assaults continued up until she was 17. During the trial, Usher denied all the allegations.
