posted (January 31, 2025)
At the top of the news we told you about disgruntled firefighters who are on go-slow. Well, today in Cayo, it was teachers at St Andrew's Anglican who were sending students home. Why? Well, according to reports, they did not get their increments as expected from their school managements - when other sc tools under the same management did get their money. The teachers were fed ups with the foot dragging, and. So called parents to send the students home.

Today, a memo from the teachers union to all teachers underscored the reason for a protest which is planned for next week Friday, February 7th. It says, quote, "decisive action must be taken to demonstrate our displeasure with the fact that over 600 of our members are still languishing without the increments and allowances they are owed..."

"It has been decided that our teachers, from all across the country, will engage in a Protest Rally in Belmopan at the UB Gymnasium, on Friday, February 7h, 2025, from 8:30am - 2:00pm, to make their dissatisfaction known publicly." End quote.

We note that a house meeting has also been announced for that same date.
