And finally tonight, Perez was also asked how he feels about Sergeant Devon Makin operating as a police officer in San Pedro even after he was caught on camera pistol-whipping a civilian. He explained that he doesn't know Makin personally, but that his status on the force is up to the police department.

"When you ask me that question, you're delving into a ministry or department I shouldn't be commenting. I will not rush to the defense of Mr Makin, I do not know him, I do know the story about him pistol whipping, I know the whole process there. Why he's there? It's not for me to answer why he's still there but all in all, working with the police department in San Pedro and again the work that we do with the municipality, with the town council, very engaging as well. I do not know if we want to just focus on one person as being the entire department, there's a whole group of people, good people, the officer in charge, I can call out names, Mr Serrano, Commander Cowo, doing a stellar job."
