And if he does lead his party to do the redistricting - it might be one of the PM's parting gifts to the electorate. As we have reported, the PM says the March 12th election is his last - and somehow - even though he has no clear successor - he expects to defy Belize's political history and make an orderly passing over of power to his successor - whoever that is:

"If I decide to retire, obviously there are a number of people that have expressed an interest, but they will have to be able to do their work. They will have to go to the people of Orange Walk Central to be able to quite likely have a convention and whoever the party decides will be their next candidate. Whenever I retire then I will support that person."
