But there's no question whether their opponents, the PUP have sufficient funding - and Sunday's million dollar national convention proves it. But will the UDP be able to pull off their own? And will they garner enough seats to make up the next government?
Against all external indicators, Peyrefitte is pretty confident about both.

"See, this is the thing. We only had 30 days notice. We were assuming the election will be in November. We have 30 days' notice. So I believe that the more practical thing to do at this point is for candidates to be in their constituencies selling the message of the party and making a difference in the saying, like, listen to me, this is the reason why you should vote for me and for us rather than for him or her or for them."

"I'm not saying that we won't have it. I'm saying that at this point, the focus is for the candidates to be in their constituencies."
