Enriquez And Ramlogan Will Appeal, Still Determined To Block March 12th Election
posted (February 19, 2025)
And while all of those aspirants prepare for the election, in a press release tonight, re-districting champion Jerry Enriquez is re-stating his commitment to get an injunction blocking that March 12th election.

He may have lost in the High Court yesterday, but he says, quote, "I instructed my attorney to file an appeal against the judgment of Justice Hondora and seek an urgent injunction to prevent the general elections, announced by the Prime Minister, from proceeding on March 12, 2025." End quote.

He adds, quote, "this election is unconstitutional and unlawful due to the extreme malapportionment and disparities in electoral division boundaries…Far too often, a small elite class seeks to maintain dynastic control over our nation, disenfranchising thousands of Belizeans….The coercion of our people into participating in an election marred by unconstitutional and fraudulent practices makes a mockery of Belize's democratic system."

He concludes by saying, quote, "If necessary, I am prepared to take this case to the Caribbean Court of Justice….Every avenue must be pursued to ensure that elections are conducted fairly and comply with the law."

And as for the attacks on his Trinidadian Attorney, Anand Ramlogan he says quote, "His commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and justice deserves recognition rather than being overshadowed by politically motivated attacks on his character. The focus must remain on the urgent issue at hand-the right of Belizeans to a fair and just electoral process."
