The 48th CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting opened this evening in Bridgetown, Barbados, and for the first time in memory, reports tell 7News that Belize did not send a single representative - not even an Ambassador.
It's a major snub to a meeting that's considered regionally important - and at the opening an hour ago, the CARICOM Chairman and host Prime Minister Mia Mottley said that climate change, food security, the cost of living and crime are among the top priorities:
The meeting is being held under the theme Strength in Unity: Forging Caribbean Resilience, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development and it runs from today until the 21st.
