It Was A Hit - Real Estate Mogul Killed In Front Of His Penthouse
posted (February 24, 2025)
Today may've been a big day politically - but in terms of police news - it was a weekend that just kept coming with one sad and stunning headline after another.

We start first with one of the most unusual murders we'll probably ever report: a millionaire American real estate magnate was killed by a hit - and it happened in the guarded remove of his upscale condominium development:The Villas at Cocoplum,

Jules Vasquez has the story of the execution of Boris Mannsfeld:

This is the image Boris Mansfeld projected in his sales videos, a man eternally on the move, selling real estate dreams in a paradise. In this video, he is showcasing a penthouse at his flagship development, the villas at Cocoplum in Maya Beach, not far from Seine Bight. That was about a year ago, on Friday night. That is where he was killed around 9pm. As the rain came down, a killer waylaid him on this remote location in a secure development and shot him once to the head.

A clean and calculated hit, no robbery.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"The shooting death of Mr. Boris Mannsfeld, I think is his name, has all indications of a hit. He came into the country that same day, as he would know that he has been in and out of the country following the death of Borja."

"He was in his yard when seemingly he was approached by whoever the gunman or gunman are, and he was shot once to the head, behind the neck. He succumbed to his injuries. At this time, we don't know much. Investigators are still busy trying to investigate a around Mr. Mannsfeld, as well as we have one person in custody. His license firearm was found right near to him, so I believe he knew that he was being looked at, and he had his firearm nearby, but he was late to draw his weapon against who came after him."

That person is a former employee, the commissioner confirmed, and a part of the tangle of litigation and accusations at the heart of what Mannsfeld called a massive land fraud. So while his public projection may have been that of a smiling salesman in truth, Mannsfeld was embattled.

A man in the middle of multiple legal disputes, several suits being brought by him, and others, almost a dozen, being brought against him.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Yes we have seen the discourse on social media where they said that there are several claims before the court."

"So again investigators have communicated with Mr. Mannsfield attorney and today they are going to the court to see what are those claims. We're also looking at the business transactions that Mr. Mannsfield may have with other individuals with a view to see if we will be able to close in on a possible motive and perhaps suspect. So at this time we don't have much."

But Mansfield has said much to his clients accusing a former associate of murder and pointing to land fraud allegedly carried out by Ricardo Borja and Darren Taylor who were both executed in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

He told his clients that in the event of his demise all will be revealed.

Reporter
"The reporter asked earlier if there's any connection or any likelihood that this particular murder may be tied to that of Mr. Taylor or Mr Borja?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"At this time we cannot see that, but we're not ruling it out. We have to first establish a motive in order for us to be able to make a definitive connection. But it will not be wrong for one to assume that there may be some connection there and we're looking at that possibility."

As we said, police have one former employee detained for questioning.
